It can’t have passed your notice that there’s an extremely controversial individual in control of the world’s largest military. His actions and those of his billionaire sidekicks may have caused you some minor consternation. Rather than tutting at the radio, alone, why not join us and we can all tut along together.
We might even talk about how we can avoid the same outcome here.

We are proud to welcome Kristin Wolfe, a local resident and UK chair of Democrats Abroad, the official Democratic Party arm for the millions of Americans living outside the United States, striving to provide Americans abroad a Democratic voice in US government and elect Democratic candidates by mobilizing the overseas vote.
Kristin Wolfe is Democrats Abroad UK’s Chair for 2023-2025. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Kristin votes in the battleground state of Wisconsin. Her passion is preserving U.S. democracy. A business leader and lawyer, she moved to the U.K. in 2007 as part of her long career in the global beer industry. In 2020, she founded a corporate affairs consulting firm advising leading alcohol companies in South Africa. She holds a General Management certificate from Harvard Business School, a law degree from Marquette University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Wisconsin. Kristin lives in Woking with her husband and three adult children.

Between May 2022 and July 2024, Will worked as
Lib Dem Campaign Manager for the South East. He’s been a local Woking councillor since 2009 and
is a former Mayor. He recently became Deputy Leader of Woking Borough Council
where he’s played a leading role tackling the financial crisis left by the
former Conservative council. Will is extremely well qualified to shed some
light on what is really going on behind the local government reorganisation
scene.

Chris Fox is Liberal Democrat Business and Industry Spokesperson in the house of Lords and is also a member of the House of Lords International Agreements Committee which scrutinises international treaties.
Last year he became a member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly.
His political activity includes serving as a councillor in Hounslow in the 1990s and as Liberal Democrats Chief Executive when the Liberal Democrat entered government in 2010.
Chris was brought up in rural Herefordshire and gained a chemistry degree from Imperial College, London, graduating in 1980. Before becoming a lord in 2014, he had a long career in the petroleum, nuclear, food, defence, automotive and aerospace sectors. He served on the executive committees of two FTSE 100 companies. He is an executive member of the British American Parliamentary Group and a vice President of the German British Chamber of industry and Commerce.

Heather Glass is a co-founder of Lambeth for Europe and has chaired the group since 2016. She sits on the National Council, Membership and Audit Committees of European Movement UK.
Ben Austin co-founded European Movement in Wandsworth and Merton in 2016 and has helped run the organisation since. As a volunteer he co-organised the Battersea and Tooting constituencies Stronger In campaigns for the Referendum, whilst living in Balham.

Women’s Day in Chesham - Saturday 8th March, 2pm (for 2:30) to 4:30pm
Come along
and meet women from a range of international backgrounds who will share their education
and career choices and challenges. If you are starting out on a first career,
planning a new one or interested in the insights shared by our speakers, this free
community event is perfect for you.
Our
speakers are successful local women in business and education with
international careers and fascinating stories to tell. Teachers from Sri Lankan and Ukrainian backgrounds will illustrate how they have met challenges in the evolution of career choices. After a tea break a coach and coaching skills trainer will guide discussion on decision-making, change and much more.
You will
have the chance to raise questions and explore issues that women and girls
frequently face in pursuing their goals. Find out how and why we make key (and often difficult) decisions, and achieve
the changes needed to make the most of opportunities.

meeting at the White Hill Centre, White Hill, Chesham, on Saturday 8th

Graham Watson, LIBG Chair, and former member of the European Parliament will moderate the meeting.

Come and join our debate club where we are discussing the rise of right wing politics in the UK
This evening we'll be joined by Lorna Dupre, the Liberal Democrat candidate for Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough in the election in 1 May.
This role carries powers devolved from Westminster, and is likely to become more significant in the local government re-organisation. This event will give us a chance to find out more about Lorna and her vision for the mayoralty, in a county with three Liberal Democrat MPs and (hopefully) a Liberal Democrat County Council.
Martin Tod, the Deputy Leader of the Lib Dems on Hampshire County Council and Leader of Winchester City Council will brief Lib Dem members on the Hampshire Local Government Reorganisation: what it is, what will happen and how will it affect us. Martin is directly involved in the process and will explain what has been agreed, what remains uncertain and what elections are likely to happen at what time.
We will send out registration links for the Webinar a few days before the event.Designed for data oifficers, membership officers and others with an interest in using our data systems effectively to find more volunteers and candidates for our campaigns.
