We know that many Harrow residents used the cemetery as a place to remember their loved ones. We support the Muslim community in Harrow and beyond who are effected by this issue. 

The events at Carpenders Park Cemetery displayed the worst kind of disrespect for any human life regardless of religion. The vandalism is inexcusable and we are supportive of local police treating these actions as a hate crime.

Actions like these have no place in our society and it is disgraceful that certain people have committed these actions. This does not reflect the majority of the country who believe in peace, tolerance, and respect for all people who have lived in our community, contributed to our society, and are buried in our country. The graves of our friends, neighbours, and loved ones deserve dignity and respect. 

We trust the police are handling this issue accordingly and hope they identify the culprits and bring them to justice.
