Potential disruption in Harrow 7th August

You may have seen rumours circulating that there will be protests in Harrow. These seem to suggest that a particular immigration help centre in North Harrow will be the target for anti-immigration protests and the organisation Stand up to Racism has organised a counter protest in the same area.

In recent days communication has come out from the MP for Harrow West indicating there is a reduced likelihood of these protests and Harrow MPS has informed the local community that there will be an increased police presence in the area.

Personally, I live in North Harrow very close to the target location of these protests. I know that my community is diverse and built on respect for one another. Any disruptive events that seek to divide our community are not representative of the people that live here.

The local party recognises that some people may feel unsafe during these times.

Whatever your background, violence and disruption in our peaceful neighbourhood is unwelcome. We support law enforcement agencies in their efforts to keep our community safe. It is incumbent on everyone in Harrow to support our diverse community daily which we stand behind

Harrow stands together in the face of hatred and violence against people in our community based on their demographic characteristics. There is strength in our unity and our unity is unwavering.

To all in Harrow, please keep each other safe. If you are aware of anyone travelling to Harrow to cause trouble please inform Harrow MPS.

We are an inclusive community that lives together in peace. We know that anyone causing trouble will likely not be from the Harrow area.
